Observe, Learn and Teach! -Creator of the @Impfluencer
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I am a proud ALUMNA of a HBCU. (University of Maryland Eastern Shore) I graduated in 2007 with a B.A. in English and two years later began a Masters of Science program where I received a dual degree at Touro College.
I consider myself to be a self taught enthusiast. You are probably wondering what that means. Self taught meaning, I taught myself and Enthusiast means that I find great joy and interest in learning new things and sharing information. I taught myself how to be excitable, teachable, approachable and coachable.
I am a fifth generation Hebrew Israelite. Super dope!! That means I practice prophetic Judaism. Some refer to me as ‘A Black Jew’. I don’t take offense but I refer to myself as a Hebrew Israelite. Yes I am apart of the chosen people. Please be aware that there are many sects, my religious organization has been around over 100 years and we are still very active in many major cities throughout the United States, Africa and The West Indies. Contact me if you are interested in knowing more.
I am considered that overly witty friend that knows the most random things about a variety of subjects. I find it often leaves people intrigued and interested in knowing more. A friend of mine once told me it was time for me to “cast a wider net”. Meaning, I knew that I had to reach more people with my resourcefulness but it was a matter of me finding the time, dedication and commitment.
Summer/Fall 2019 I decided to do so by making myself a resource for individuals who want to know a little bit about a lot of stuff. This is a place where you will see some vulnerability, honesty, and just a bunch of other dope sh!t.
This blog is inspired by one of my favorite female bloggers, xoNecole. I followed her transformation for years and her ability to influence and empower women of color has left an impact on me so much that I want to follow suit. If you have not checked her out please do. She used to be a celebrity gossip blogger but changed direction and gave women of color a platform to exchange stories and be an empowered resource in a safe space.
I came up with the name Imperfectionist Influencer aka the Impfluencer as a reminder that although I may be imperfect, a work in progress, I want to be able to influence and leave my impact in any arena that I come across. One thing my father always told me “you can not change a person, however, you can influence their decisions and point of view”- DCM.
